We've updated mAuthor and the Player. Here's the list of recent changes:
- New options have been added for positioning pop-ups in the IWB Toolbar module (notes, timer, and clock) in relation to the toolbar expansion direction. For vertical expansions (up, down), the Vertical Pop-ups Direction option (left, right) is now available, and for horizontal expansions (left, right), the Horizontal Pop-ups Direction option (up, down) is now operational.
- It is now possible to export lessons with the automatic scaling to fit full page in the current view embedded in the exported packages. The option is visible in the project view in the Export icon in the toolbar.
- There is an entirely new module called Geometric Construct that allows to present multiple geometric objects and figures and allow the student to manipulate them. Check out the documentation and the demo lesson.
- You can now propagate the setting of Speech Text Dictionary of the Template lessons to all lessons in a given space by using the Update Template feature in the Manage Projects view.
- It is now possible to switch between lesson's layouts in the preview (the corporate/view type of view) with a simple drop-down menu above the lesson.
- Alternative Texts support is added to the FlashCards module.
- There is a new, fixed method of calculating the Total value in the Hierarchical Lesson Report module. If you wish to have the old method used, you can use the new "Exclude Unvisited Pages" property for that.
- It is now possible to disable the Navigation Panels automatic appearance in the lesson Settings in the Editor.
- Due to the recent change in support of the DOMNodeRemoved event in the Chrome browser, we have changed it to the MutationObserver in the code of many modules. If you are using this deprecated event in your Custom Addons, please fix it and switch to MutationObserver as described e.g here: https://www.mauthor.com/doc/en/page/Iframe in the "Fixing memory leaks" section.
We have also fixed some bugs:
- Moving lessons between spaces using the lesson properties is now working correctly in all cases.
- LaTeX code rendering issue is now fixed in the Text Selection module.
- A bug in the Clock module when using Gradual Show Answers and then Show Answers caused to unlock it was fixed.
- An issue in Math Gaps and Math Modules - with maintaining state was fixed.
- Saving text in the Drawing Module is now working correctly.
- We've fixed displaying the image in the Zoom Image module and centering the Popup in some cases.
- Minor issues with Text Audio, eKeyboard and drag & drop on interactive whiteboards were also fixed.
Additional announcement:
WCAG 2.2, released in October 2023, sets standards for digital accessibility. It will be enforced in the EU from June 2025, with earlier deadlines in some countries.
